2012 Spring Conference, "Learning From Each Other"

Join us on Vancouver Island in beautiful Alert Bay, BC for our annual conference! Have fun, relax a little, learn a lot and check out the new windmill at Alert Bay Elementary!
Morning session - Laura Tait, District First Nations Principal, from Lake Cowichan, will present her quick scale of participant knowledge of aboriginal culture and their comfort level in teaching it, followed by an information session and informal discussion of aboriginal history and the Indian Act. This will be a safe place to ask questions, without feeling intimidated, embarrassed, or ashamed.
Mid-day session - Presentation from Zebalous School staff on their unique groupings of learners within their small, rural school.
Afternoon session - presentation from the Port McNeill Rural Innovations Grant recipients on their technology PLN- how to collaborate without boundaries, including some ideas on smartboard, ipod, ipad, voice threads for use in classrooms and student assessment.
