The BC Rural & Multigrade Teachers' Association was formed in 1982 by Teachers across British Columbia. Recognizing unique circumstances and practices of teaching in small, and often remote, schools, our association exists to provide support to teachers of multigrade classrooms who work and often live within small communities. We recognize both the demands and joys of such teaching and know first-hand the diverse and important roles of teachers and small schools in providing quality teaching to rural children.
In celebration of the BCTF’s 100th anniversary, and in recognition of the valuable role literature has always played in children’s learning, the Federation invites BC teachers to participate in "100 Best Books for BC Students." Our goal is to create two lists of the best books that answer this question:
What books do you believe every student should read before they leave elementary and secondary school?
